Half moon and the sky

Lo, the sight!
Of the half moon white
Against a bright blue sky
Oh! my plight,
As I try to write
Amidst these pangs of joy...

My day is made
As I lay in shade
And a flock of gulls fly-by
They rise to the moon
Which makes me swoon
Over white dots in the sky!

This warm day of July
As time flies by,
I reminisce about the past...
Of decisions and moments
Of luck and events
That led me to this grass

Whereupon I lie
Gazing at the sky
Awestruck and wondering why?
These dots of white
And the moon so bright
Have filled me with so much joy!
